Spring is here and summer is not far behind. That means wedding season is upon us! We couldn't let last year fade away without giving a huge shout out to Catherine and Tom for their fabulous wedding at Onteora Mountain House. We were so thrilled to be able to help make this truly a night to remember.
We just love being the exclusive caterers at The Onteora Mountain House. We've been partnering with them for ten years to create magical celebrations for romantic couples, their friends and families. Nestled on a hilltop in the woods and seemingly off the beaten path, the views are stunning. Couples exchange their wedding vows with a backdrop of mountains and trees and not a single structure in sight. That's just for starters. The party then moves to the Adirondack-style pavilion for dinner and dancing. From the deck of the pavilion the views reach up the valley toward Belleayre Ski Mountain, which is truly beautiful in any season.
Last season, the most exciting and truly spectacular wedding was Catherine and Tom's. Their vision was for a wedding full of pink roses and more roses and more roses! Their florist created incredible rose accents everywhere from the wedding arbor, to the entrance to the pavilion, to the spectacular "chandelier" that hovered over the center of the room, to the rose petals sprinkled on the bridal path and gracing every guest room. They left no detail to chance and truly deserve kudos for the beauty of every single arrangement no matter how small.
Before going any further, let's give credit for these amazing photos to Tanya Menoni of Tenth & Grace. She has captured the magic of every moment in these photos, which will be cherished for a lifetime. Here is beautiful Catherine before the ceremony and the newly married couple embracing for their first kiss.
After the ceremony the grand celebration began. They chose a champagne toast accompanied by a host of passed appetizers and a raw bar with Oysters Mignonette and shrimp cocktail. They and their guests sampled Mini Crab Cakes, Buffalo Chicken Sliders, Falafel Bites with Creamy Lemon Hummus, Bacon-wrapped Dates stuffed with Chorizo, and Chicken Cilantro Dumplings.
Dinner started with a served Spinach Salad followed by a plated dinner of Beef Tenderloin with a Twice-baked Potato with Gorgonzola cheese, and haricots verts, and Cod Basquaise served over a Salt Cod Potato Cake, and sautéed local swiss chard.
Needless to say after many hours of dancing, everyone enjoyed the Red Velvet Wedding Cake and Chocolate Cupcakes with chocolate mousse filling.
The night ended with an incredible fireworks display that left everyone breathless! Wow! From start to finish Catherine and Tom's wedding was the wedding of the year. We wish them many years of happiness and love.
